Being a Clinical Psychologist - psychological assessment, clinical formulation, and psychotherapy have been central to my training. It has been an immensely rewarding experience to have worked at Helen Joseph Hospital while I was a student psychologist, Fort Napier and Town Hill Hospitals as an intern psychologist, and the Far East Rand Hospital during my Community Service year.

Moving into private practice and founding Elevate Mental Health allowed me the opportunity to shift from alleviating mental illness to promoting mental health. I believe that journeying into your inner world and being curious about your psychological make-up are integral components to living a fulfilling life.

As an academic...
Being a Social Psychologist - I subscribe to the paradigm that no two individuals, social encounters, or relationships are exactly the same. From my social psychological relational perspective, I believe that people's thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are influenced by the context in which they occur.

This has led me to examine the perception of love in romantic relationships during my Honours research, the construction of motherhood in the media during my Masters dissertation, and representations of marriage and infidelity by the discipline of psychology for my Doctoral thesis. Having graduated with my PhD in 2023, merging my interests, studies, and experience, I find it truly fulfilling to currently work solely with adults and couples who would like to better understand their inner and relational selves.
