THERAPY FOR COUPLES

Sessions for my partner and I

Why would we need couples counselling?

To align with our shared vision for our relationship

If you are navigating the world as a Millennial couple and you are struggling with your partner right now, it's possibly time to consider therapeutic intervention.

You may be finding it difficult to communicate and express your needs, or you may be experiencing conflict and growing resentment that is either very obvious and tough to move past or very confusing and neither of you is certain of how to approach this impasse.

These may be some areas that you both have decided to address:

  • Therapy to help resolve conflict in a mature way
  • Therapy to help navigate a challenging life transition
  • Therapy to help improve how you communicate with each other

How will sessions help us?

By reducing conflict and enhancing compatibility

Just as every couple is different, so is every relationship's goal for therapy and the concerns that we will address.

If you aim to enhance your ability to communicate effectively with each other, become active listener's and cheerleaders for each other, or heal a recent trauma together, that's what we will work towards.

Alternately, if you're wanting to reduce verbal and non-verbal conflict with each other and the resulting feelings of anger or resentment, then that will be our focus.

What happens in session with Hmrithi?

Being able to lean into and trust the therapy process

When coming to therapy as a couple, the process will organically follow a different path to that of individual sessions. However, the core principles, including openness and communication, remain.

In the initial consult, both of you together with Hmrithi will decide if this feels like a good relational fit to begin the therapy process. After getting to know you as a couple and with input from each partner, Hmrithi will discuss a treatment plan that's appropriate for the current needs and concerns of your relationship.
